Sometimes finding a location for bridal portraits can be a challenge. Whether her style is eclectic, traditional or a mix of both, I try to find settings that match the look and feel of the bride. I always offer up suggestions when asked about locations for portraits, but ultimately it’s the bride’s choice as to where we usually end up. Lyndsey first mentioned that she wanted to have bridals that were pretty, but different and unique. Lyndsey called me up and said, “Maybe we could go to an old dinner and have a milkshake?” I am always excited to try something different, but I admit it, I was a little nervous that we wouldn’t be able to make her photos look natural, organic and most importantly, that she fit the scene. Well, the day I met Lyndsey was the day of her portrait session, and I knew that this girl was meant to have her portraits done with a milkshake, at an vintage style barber shop and with the awesome antique chair she brought along. It all came together wonderfully. She’s a natural throw back to days gone by and I had a great time photographing her. As mentioned below (with her wedding pics), her dress was custom made (out of raw silk no less!) and her shoes are from BHLDN. I had a really hard time narrowing these down. Her expressions were so subtle, and yet had such an big impact on making every single image so special and unique. Enjoy!
